6/1978 to 4/2003: Chemical Operator: Akzo Nobel Chemical LLC, Burt, New York

Coordinated manual and automated chemical processes that produced organic peroxides in liquid, solid, and paste form. Achieved lead operator status in all manufacturing processes. I collaborated with Electrical, Mechanical and Chemical Engineers to resolve chemical process issues. Routinely monitored, and documented instrumentation, sampled products for quality control, monitored and controlled bulk storage and support areas and packaged finished products. Maintained electromechanical and pneumatic systems, repairing equipment, PLC trouble shooting and resolving problems associated with automated chemical processes. Personally trained several operations personal in various chemical processes; Participated on various support committees to improve chemical processes. The committees improved productivity and increase individual product yield. Other committees I participated on focused on safety, correcting potential operator errors as well as preventing environmental hazards. Participated in the development and enforcement of procedures for handling recyclable materials at the Akzo site.
